About the Holiday with a Hero Event
The Holiday with a Hero event is a heartwarming, private experience, designed to bring joy, connection, and holiday cheer to select children in the Baraboo community. Each year, Baraboo School District students are carefully chosen to participate in a special day they’ll never forget.
During the event, students are paired one-on-one with a local first responder “hero” for a day filled with fun and meaningful interaction. Activities include holiday gift shopping, gift wrapping, crafts, snacks, and time spent building friendships with the everyday heroes who serve our community. And of course, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus adds a little extra magic to the day!

2025 Holiday with a Hero Applications Now Open!
We’re thrilled to announce that applications for the Holiday with a Hero 2025 event are officially OPEN! All application requirements and eligibility details will be clearly listed within the application itself, making it easy to see if your child qualifies. Applications close October 31st, 2025.
